Jim Furyk Strives to Obtain First PGA TOUR Victory Since 2007

~ Jim Furyk captured his 13th PGA TOUR victory at the 2007 RBC Canadian Open. Since then, he has been searching for more hardware to add to his trophy case. ~

Since joining the PGA TOUR in 1994, Jim Furyk has enjoyed a consistently successful golfing career. With victories in prestigious tournaments like the Memorial Tournament and the Doral-Ryder Open, Furyk has become well-respected by both his peers and fans alike for his consistent play, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

During the last decade, Furyk captured the 2003 U.S. Open (while tying the championship's aggregate score), attained a career high of second in the Official World Golf Rankings, and displayed his passion for golfing success and patriotism as a member of six Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams.

However, despite collecting 20 top-ten finishes in the past two seasons, Furyk has been searching for his 14th PGA TOUR victory ever since he won his second consecutive Canadian Open championship in 2007.

He has certainly had a variety of opportunities to win in the last few months, though. With second-place finishes in the 2008 World Golf Championships - CA Championship, the 2009 Memorial Tournament, and the 2009 BMW Championship, Furyk was prepared to collect more tournament trophies, only to watch one of his fellow peers win instead.

Yet, it seems Furyk's perseverance may finally pay off today. With a three stroke lead in the 2010 Transitions Championship, Furyk has shown the golf world that he is determined to be a PGA TOUR winner once again.

Whether or not Furyk captures his 14th PGA TOUR victory today, he certainly appears to be on the path towards redemption. As always, "The Grinder" will continue to persevere both on and off the golf course, as he strives to attain further golfing success.
